Introdução

A origem da semente é um fator crucial na produção de carvalhos, mas muitas vezes é negligenciada por produtores de árvores de sombra ao escolherem o material para cultivo. Este estudo mostra que a interação entre a fonte das sementes e o ambiente de produção influencia fortemente o crescimento e a qualidade das mudas de carvalho-chorão (Quercus phellos L.) e carvalho-shumard (Q. shumardii Buckl.) nos primeiros dois anos de cultivo.
