Introdução
O carvalho é um recurso natural valioso nos ecossistemas do Hemisfério Norte, atraindo muitos pesquisadores que estudam sua genética, ecologia, conservação e manejo. Aqui apresentamos um rascunho do genoma do carvalho-do-vale (Quercus lobata), montado a partir do sequenciamento Illumina de tecido foliar adulto de uma árvore encontrada em uma população natural acessível e bem estudada no sul da Califórnia.
